TAFE St George, located in Kogarah, is a prominent campus of TAFE NSW, offering a wide range of vocational courses across fields such as business, IT, health, creative arts, hospitality, trades, and engineering. The campus features modern facilities, including specialised training areas and state-of-the-art workshops, and is staffed by industry-experienced instructors.

The Requirement

To enhance the functionality and aesthetics of the campus environment and create a welcoming and well-organised campus that supports both academic and social activities.

The Challenges

• Durability and Quality: The furniture needs to withstand heavy use and harsh weather conditions when placed outdoors. Ensuring the furniture is made from high-quality, durable materials is a key consideration to avoid frequent replacements and maintenance costs.
• Comfort and Ergonomics: The furniture must be comfortable and ergonomically designed to support students and staff during long periods of use. This is crucial for promoting a conducive learning and working environment.
• Aesthetic Appeal: The furniture should complement the campus's overall design and aesthetic. Choosing pieces that enhance the visual appeal of the campus can create a welcoming and attractive environment for students, staff, and visitors.

The Solution

After evaluating the challenges and requirements, TAFE St George selected a few key products, including Madrid DDA Seat, Madrid/London DDA Table, Orbit Stools and Tables,  Madrid Seats and Benches,  Liverpool Covered Setting, Athens Bin Enclosure, London Bin with Cover, Liverpool 4-Sided Square Setting

The Liverpool Covered Setting offers the following features:

• Integrated Shade and Shelter: The setting includes a roof that provides shade and shelter from the elements which enhances user comfort and usability in various weather conditions, making the space more inviting and practical.
• High-Quality, Durable Materials: Constructed with marine grade aluminium and stainless steel fasteners, ensures long-lasting durability and corrosion resistance, especially in coastal areas, reducing maintenance and replacement costs.
• Modular Design and Easy Assembly: The picnic setting has a modular design, allowing for quick and easy assembly, and is shipped in flat pack form. This simplifies transportation and on-site installation, saving time and effort for facility managers.
• Versatile Installation Options: Can be bolted down for permanent installation or left freestanding, with dimensions suitable for various settings. The Athens Bin Enclosure - Curved Covered Top offers the following features:

• Robust Construction: The enclosure features heavy-duty stainless steel hinges and a heavy 2mm wall thickness made from Zincanneal® steel with a premium powder coat finish, ensuring durability and resistance to wear and weather conditions.
• Security and Functionality: Equipped with a heavy-duty quarter turn cam lock that can be customised, it offers superior security compared to standard locks, protecting contents against unauthorised access.
• Structural Integrity: The design includes a wide and long striker to prevent the door from bowing or becoming uneven, maintaining structural integrity and functionality over time.
• Australian Made Quality: Being 100% Australian made, the enclosure supports local manufacturing and ensures compliance with high quality and safety standards.
• Modular and Maintainable Design: The no-weld, modular construction not only enhances the strength but also allows for individual replacement of sides if damaged, unlike welded or riveted units that may require complete replacement.

The stools and tables in the Orbit Suite offer the following features:

• High Adaptability and Customisation: The Orbit Suite consists of mix-and-match tables and stools that can be configured based on specific requirements, with the option to purchase tables separately or bundled with 2, 3, 4, or 5 stools.
