About TAFE Enmore

TAFE Enmore, also known as Enmore Design Centre, is a prominent part of TAFE NSW, specialising in creative and design education. The campus boasts state-of-the-art facilities, experienced industry professionals as instructors, and strong industry connections, providing students with hands-on learning and real-world experience. 

The Requirement

To enhance the student experience by providing comfortable and aesthetically pleasing outdoor seating areas that offer spaces for relaxation, social interaction, and study outside of the classroom.

The Challenges

• Durability and Weather Resistance: Ensuring that the furniture is durable and can withstand various weather conditions, including rain, sun, and wind, to avoid frequent replacements and maintenance.
• Vandalism and Theft: Choosing furniture that is resistant to vandalism and theft, which is a common concern in public and semi-public spaces.
• Aesthetic Alignment: Selecting furniture that complements the campus’s existing aesthetic and enhances the overall visual appeal, reflecting the creative and design-focused nature of TAFE Enmore.
• Installation and Maintenance: Considering the ease of installation and the maintenance requirements of the furniture, ensuring that it can be easily maintained over time without incurring excessive costs.

After evaluating the challenges and requirements, TAFE Enmore selected a few key products, including the London Bench - Wall Mount, Madrid DDA Seat Splay Leg and London Bins.

The London Bench - Wall Mount offers the following features:

• Premium Design and Durability: Smooth, slender slats on a heavy-duty, silver-grey powder-coated frame provides a robust and stylish seating option that can withstand various environmental conditions, ensuring longevity and minimal maintenance.
• Australian Made: Proudly designed, manufactured, and assembled in Australia, ensuring high-quality production standards.
• Versatile and Customizable: Offers multiple leg options and a variety of slat materials, including Merbau Hardwood, Anodised Aluminium, Enviroslat Walnut, Wood Grain Aluminium (Western Red Cedar & Blonde Oak), with custom slat options available on request. This versatility allows for tailored solutions that match various aesthetic preferences and functional requirements.
• Space-Saving and Practical: The wall-mounted design maximises space efficiency by keeping the ground area clear, ideal for areas with limited space, and provides a clean, organised look to outdoor settings.

The Madrid DDA Seat Splay Leg offers the following features:

• Premium Traditional Style and Accessibility: The Madrid Seat boasts a classic design favoured by councils and local governments across Australia and is available with or without armrests, meeting Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) standards with armrests.
• Robust, Low-Maintenance Construction: Made from a die-cast aluminium frame that resists corrosion, paired with wood grain aluminium slats that mimic the look of timber but require zero maintenance. Provides a durable, corrosion-resistant seating solution that will not rust or decay over its lifetime, significantly reducing maintenance costs and efforts.
• Versatile and Customisable Design: Offers multiple leg styles, including splay leg, straight leg (surface mount), and straight leg (in-ground), ensuring adaptability to different site requirements and design preferences, allowing for a tailored solution that fits various environments and enhances functionality.
• Immediate Availability: As with all of Astra’s range, our Madrid DDA Seats are kept in stock for prompt availability. This ensures that seating needs can be met promptly, reducing waiting times for installation and use.

The  London Bin offers the following features:

• High-Quality Construction: Strong impact-resistant slats, smooth spun top, and a solid base that can be bolted down. Ensures durability and security, making the bins ideal for high-traffic areas and resistant to wear and vandalism.
• Versatile Design Options: Available in clear anodised aluminium and wood grain powder-coated slats, with options for open and covered tops, powder-coated lid and base, plain or laser-cut sides, and hardwood slats.
